Communication has become a major issue on the web. The amount of spam entering one’s inbox every day is astounding. But in many cases, the biggest issue is not spam, but dealing with the real mail you actually receive.

One way to work around this is to have predefined subjects that people may contact you about. Not only does it make it easier for a person to manage, it makes it easier on the person sending the message to know what they want to tell you fits in with something you want to hear about.

In the case of popular bloggers, having a communication system besides email that is very expandable and configurable would be a blessing.

Communicatr works by allowing users to communicate with one another in a variety of ways.

The first is standard messaging. One Communicatr user may message message another either by choosing a predefined subject set by the receiving user, or by choosing “Other” as the subject of the message. Correspondence labeled with a predefined subject such as “Job Offers” would be put automatically into your “Job Offer” inbox.

But Communicatr is not meant as a kind of walled garden email system. Not only does it allow other Communicatr users to message you, but it also makes available html/javascript contact forms for simple insertion into blogs or webpages. Of course, the forms also keeps your available predefined subjects.

Beyond allowing you to access your messages on Communicatr, all messages can be forwarded to email accounts. RSS feeds for every subject and the inbox are also available.

Obviously there are many more features that could be implemented but the basic idea is that a platform for mass communications would be beneficial to all types of users. As user to user messaging for the base, the idea is to expand the usability of communication across the internet.
